Where the money comes from.
Full disclosure of every commercial relationship that touches our coverage — and the rules that keep coverage independent of them.
Affiliate links
Some links on The Spinoza Journal — those marked with the ↗ symbol or routed through /go/ — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a commission. This does not change the price you pay.
We use affiliate links to fund the publication. We do not use them to fund our editorial decisions. A tool's affiliate rate has no influence on its ranking, its review score, or whether we cover it at all. Some of the highest-scored tools on this site are not in our affiliate programs.
Sponsored placements
From time to time we accept sponsored placements — for example, a "Sponsored" tool in our featured-tool slot, or a sponsored section of a newsletter edition.
Sponsored content is always labelled. The "Sponsored" tag appears on:
- Any tool that has paid for featured placement on a category page or roundup.
- Any briefing entry where the company has paid to surface the news.
- Any newsletter section explicitly marked as sponsored at the top of the issue.
Sponsorship buys placement. It does not buy favorable judgment. A sponsored tool can still receive a negative review. A sponsor of one issue does not get coverage protection in the next. We reserve the right to decline any sponsorship.

Author conflicts of interest
Per our methodology, every contributor declares in writing any commercial relationship with a company they intend to cover. Declared conflicts appear in the methodology box at the bottom of the specific piece, where they're relevant.
For a complete list of standing conflicts across the masthead, see /masthead.
What this page is not
This page is a disclosure of relationships that could create the appearance of a conflict of interest. It is not a statement that those relationships influence our coverage. Our methodology and corrections policies exist precisely to keep coverage independent of these relationships.
If you believe a piece has been influenced by an undisclosed commercial relationship, write to tips@thespinozajournal.com. We take this category of complaint as seriously as we take any other correction.
