Verdict

The best way to record remote interviews in real quality. Editing is capable, if secondary.

Riverside records each participant locally in up to 4K, so a shaky connection never ruins the take, which is why it's a favorite for remote podcasts and video interviews. It then layers on transcript-based editing, AI clip generation for shorts, and one-click exports. As a pure editor it trails Descript, but as an end-to-end record-and-repurpose tool for interviews, it's excellent.
